Monsters 03:00
We live in the black We eat when we can Pulled in by your heart Pumping in the dark Gonna make you mine Can’t help what we hunger for With appetites of carnivores Teeth and talons, horns and fur We are grotesque and powerful Gonna make you mine Gonna make you mine Monsters what we want’s unspeakable Your body, bloody, visceral Don’t we belong here in this world Gonna make you mine Gonna make you mine We live in the black We eat when we can Pulled in by your heart Pumping in the dark Gonna make you mine Can’t help what we hunger for (We live in the black) With appetites of carnivores (We eat when we can) Teeth and talons, horns and fur (Pulled in by your heart) We are grotesque and powerful (Pumping in the dark) Monsters what we want’s unspeakable Your body, bloody, visceral Don’t we belong here in this world Gonna make you mine Gonna make you mine Gonna make you mine Gonna make you mine

Sometimes I think it’s the mold and the metals That make me this way I’ve tried to detox but you know there’s nowhere to throw it away Contaminants accumulate in tissue and bone Spinning out their filaments Never leave me alone Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh It’s in the food chain that’s how the pollution gets under my skin There is no science for how to survive all that I’ve taken in how can I be purified of what’s taken hold a parasite so deep inside Never leaves me alone Never leaves me alone Oh Oh Oh Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Sometimes I think it’s the mold and the metals that make me this way Never leave me alone (I’ve tried to detox but you know there’s nowhere to throw it away) Never leave me alone (Sometimes I think it’s the mold and the metals that make me this way) Never leave me alone (I’ve tried to detox but you know there’s nowhere to throw it away) Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Never leave me alone Oh Oh Oh

Grimoire 04:05
She has a green face and flying monkeys She wears scarves and leather and lace She lives in Africa, on the island of Ææa, in a tower, in a chicken-leg hut, in Peoria She is solitary She comes in threes She’s a member of a coven Sometimes she’s a he When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door She rides a broomstick, or a bicycle She’s all freedom and speed and scorch She is stunning, hideous, hesitant, confident Furious, curious, glorious, monstrous She is our downfall She’s our deliverance She’s a higher being Surrounded by beasts She’s lurking in the forest She lives deliciously When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door Write your grimoire Speak your grammar Make it grimmer Cast your glamour Write your grimoire Speak your grammar Make it grimmer Cast your glamour She has a taste for incantation She’s got a sulfur tooth She reads the cards and stars making magic in the margins is it myth, is it music, is it truth she’s a pagan priestess the Witch of the East in Ancient Egypt or New York City When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door, what do you see When she opens the door Write your grimoire Speak your grammar Make it grimmer Cast your glamour

Bat Song 04:45
Flapping in the dark On leather wings If you listen closely You can hear me sing Send my voice Where I cannot see It echoes sends an image Bouncing back to me Chorus: My love is blind Tell me are you One of my kind My love is blind Tell me are you One of my kind Strangest dreams When I'm fast asleep Hanging upside down From the ceiling Claws and fur Needle teeth A little black umbrella With a heart that beats (Chorus) When the sun goes down I’ll leave my little hollow And trace a crooked line Over the summer meadow Can you see the sound On a piece of shadow A drop of blood You wouldn't miss If you let me I'll give you a little kiss Fish or fowl Bird or beast Just what kind of creature Is a thing like me (Chorus)

Six Seeds 04:10
The only trees that grow down here Bear fruits like scarlet bombs I hold one heavy in my hand Will it blow me to kingdom come Each segment like a precious gem The jewels bright on my tongue I taste the rubies soft as caviar As sweet as summer sun CHORUS Six seeds sing to me Six seeds send me underground Six seeds set me free Show me what I’ve never seen Drink me down like grenadine My heart is in your hands I see (Sing to me) Your fingers stained with red just like the (Set me free) Summer sun I’ll help you to forget When I look in the mirror (Sing to me) I’m divided in two parts (Set me free) The daylight warms my skin The night wraps round my heart (Chorus) I’ve been waiting my whole life for Your attention and your smile You and I will rule this nightmare Day by day and side by side I don’t ask for all your time Just forever will you be mine (CHORUSx2) Your season comes around again (Six seeds sing to me) The winter world above (Six seeds set me free) As I descend into the dark my friend My enemy my love My enemy my love My enemy my love My enemy my love

Paris Green 02:21
Paint a picture inside a dream Wash the garden in Paris Green Flowers framing a distant view Under a heaven of Prussian Blue Stars and planets come out tonight Moon is glowing in China White Picture an angel with eyes of lead Trace the image in Saturn Red Make immortal what you have seen Paint a picture in Paris Green When you’ve done what you have to do Flowers blooming in Prussian Blue Take the matches set them alight Stars and planets shine China White Don’t look backward don’t turn your head Chase the angel in Saturn Red

Manta Rays 02:53
Here are some amazing things about manta rays They resemble magical flying carpets, or mysterious capes Some call them devil fish Or eagle rays Is that another name for them, or just one kind? We're not sure They are migratory over the ocean What do they eat? Zooplankton They exhibit a dark intelligence They are salt water dwelling They can grow up to 7 meters wide That's 23 feet! Manta rays We don’t know why they do the things they do But one day I would like to ride one I would like to ride one too I would like to ride one too Are they electrical? No. Do they have eye stalks or antennae? Not eye stalks, cephalic lobes Are their mouths on bottom like vacuum? No. Do they sleep? We’re not sure Manta rays We don’t know why they do the things they do But one day I would like to ride one I would like to ride one too I would like to ride one too They have a vestigial sting barb They cannot swim backwards They are cousins to sharks and skates They're kind of hard to talk to Two words: LIVE PUPS Are they immortal? We’re not sure Manta rays We don’t know why they do the things they do But one day I would like to ride one I would like to ride one too I would like to ride one too I would like to ride one too

Why don’t we take the wrong way home No one’s calling on the telephone Dream in the head and a lightning stone Nothing gonna touch us in a thunderstorm Wake up again with the sun in your face Day after day it’s the same Pack up your bags like you did yesterday Get to the next starting place Put on your makeup and get on the stage Tell a new tale every night Stand still the sets and the scenery change Are we just ghosts in the light of the ghost light Why don’t we take the wrong way home No one’s calling on the telephone Dream in the head and a lightning stone Nothing gonna touch us in a thunderstorm What do we need to keep us going on Half a deck of cards and suitcase drum What do we do when we’ve lost our way Trail of lucky pennies gonna get us home safe What do we need What do we do Why don’t we take the wrong way home No one’s calling on the telephone Dream in the head and a lightning stone Nothing gonna touch us in a thunderstorm travelers we wander all over the world tracing a shape we can’t see home’s not a place it is only a word: where we are trying to be Day after day it is never the same Look at the clouds in the sky Pack up your bags like you did yesterday Wake with the sun in your eyes

about

Super Natural History is a musical cabinet of curiosities, featuring songs inspired by both the natural world and the metaphysical realm; the cover art itself is composed of curios and oddities collected on Charming Disaster's travels or gifted to them by fans. This album unites the worlds of magic and science with songs that explore subjects like witchcraft, monsters, and the underworld alongside bats, plants, poisons, and parasites. Super Natural History is an alchemical experiment of sorts—magic and science may seem like contradictory concepts, but for Charming Disaster they are opposite sides of the same coin: alternate ways to see the world and consider its mysteries.

"An exploration of wonder...along the way, we meet wild and wonderful things like monsters, poisonous plants, giant manta rays, and poisonous pigments. Charming Disaster have always operated at the intersection of the occult, the folkloric, and the love of amateur science, but this time around they make sure audiences can trace the open-minded approach that brings a magical feeling to following our human curiosity." -Glide Magazine

"Charming Disaster are unusual, spooky, wickedly talented, and completely unafraid to delve deep into the underworld in exploration of all things lurking in the dark...they have a knack for making the macabre fun." –Mixed Alternative
